A New Leaf offers a variety of programs that provide victims of sexual and domestic violence with safety, housing, and basic needs, as well as court advocacy. These programs also offer support services that include case management, financial coaching, and children’s services. 

A New Leaf addresses the Valley’s need for homeless shelters, affordable housing, basic needs, and comprehensive services to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness become self-reliant and find safe, stable housing. 

A New Leaf’s Financial Empowerment services help households find financial stability, get ahead in the workforce, and even start a business and pursue their dreams. We imagine a community in which households are able to thrive independently. With programs ranging from emergency financial assistance to entrepreneurial programs, A New Leaf is here to guide our community along every step on the journey to financial freedom. 

A New Leaf’s Educational Services works to provide children and adults with all the resources they need to further their education. With programming that includes early childhood education, after school programs, and college support programs, A New Leaf can help no matter where a person is on their educational journey. 

A New Leaf’s Family Support Services improve household stability and help families create better relationships between adults and children. Comprehensive programs support families in their journey toward healing and stability, helping them to build positive family dynamics and relationships.

CAHRA’s Case Management Program works with limited income households to: 

  • Identify the root causes of financial difficulties. 
  • Develop a case management plan that includes objectives to help the household develop needed skills. 
  • Resolve the financial shortfall using funding to assist with utilities. (Other financial assistance may be offered dependant on funding availability.) 

CAHRA provides specialized services to people who are homeless, including case management, advocacy, information & referral. The agency also provides Emergency Shelter to homeless families and individuals. The primary objective of the Emergency Shelter Services is to provide a stable, secure environment combined with supportive services that will enable the household to move into permanent housing as quickly as possible. 

Nutrition Programs 

Supported by the United Food Bank, the program focuses on building partnerships. The FAIR Program facilitates the allocation of Emergency Food and Shelter Programs dollars to local pantries and coordinates the mass purchase of food, significantly increasing the buying power of the local food pantries. 

CAHRA manages the Santa Cruz Valley Food Pantry to address the nutritional needs of food insecure households in Eloy, Arizona City and Picacho areas. Staff also distributes fresh fruits and vegetables on a monthly basis. The produce is provided by United Food Bank. 

CAHRA provides a dynamic home repair program that concentrates on: 

  • Weatherizing homes to maximize the efficient use of electricity and gas for heating and cooling. The Program has a primary mission of reducing the fuel or electricity expense while improving living conditions in the home. 
  • Providing limited income homeowners experiencing a crisis, with minor repairs to existing electrical, gas, water and plumbing systems. 
  • Repair or replacing major appliances, i.e. ranges, refrigerators and water heaters. 
  • Installing adaptive aids to insure the safety of the elderly and persons with disabilities. 

The program focuses on educating clients on the importance of keeping up with maintenance to extend the life of the structure and insure the continuing affordability of the home. 

LIHEAP Program 

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps low income households pay their heating/cooling bills, minimize crises, and make energy costs more affordable. The LIHEAP program is administered in accordance with federal regulations, the Arizona LIHEAP State Plan, and LIHEAP Policy.

Homelessness

 Companion Pets in Crisis | non profit - Shelter Intervention for Homeless Individuals and Their Pets. 

At CPiC we recognize the unique bond between homeless individuals and their pets, and we work tirelessly to ensure no pet is left behind in times of crisis. 

We assist in eliminating barriers for veterans and unhoused individuals accessing shelters with their pets. 

We offer resources, support, and advocacy to ensure pets and their owners stay together during the transition to safe, stable housing. 

As a volunteer-run, donation-driven organization, we provide vital assistance to individuals and families in Maricopa County facing sudden displacement or homelessness.   

Dogs Day Out - Dogs Day Out AZ is a non-profit 501c3/509a2 public charity and licensed dog rescue that helps homeless dogs in the valley by providing supplies the homeless owners need for their dogs.

Our doggie care packages and additional dog supplies are handed out on the people on the streets as well as in homeless shelters. We constantly take care of over 1800 homeless dogs. 

This is a community built on faith, love and compassion for dogs and people. 

We are a nonprofit, all volunteers and rely on donations from the community to do what we do. 

It takes a village and together we make a difference for so many.

Hope for the Homeless - We are (Humbly Offering Positive Encouragement) HOPE for the Homeless. Our mission is to make a lasting impact for the homeless throughout Arizona. We shine light in our community by feeding the homeless who are hungry, meeting the homeless in their recovery journey, and loving the homeless for who they are, where they are. 

Food Needs

Maricopa Pantry -  Founded by Mountain View Community Church in 2004 to fulfill a need in our community MVCC Foodbank was born. In 2015 MVCC foodbank was struggling to find funding and food for the growing needs of the community. Jim and Alice Shoaf founded Maricopa Pantry to help subsidize and fund the small foodbank. Since then it has grown into the second largest food bank in Pinal County.

When you give to F.O.R., your help goes a long way! We value the resources supplied to us and use them with great care. In addition to the ongoing food assistance we provide, here are just a few other ways your giving to F.O.R. helps the community: 

– Donations of school supplies to MUSD 

– Donations of Backpacks to the Back to School Backpack Program 

– Provide support to the New Life Pregnancy Center 

– We help the Eloy, First Baptist and Casa Grande food banks in crisis 

– Thanksgiving and Christmas we help families by providing an extra food box and a turkey or ham 

– Christmas carnival for local children in need where we distribute gifts annually to over 1000 kids
